I think this shows that tonally, it is fairly decent. Does that make sense? The shapes haven't changed, and tonally it is fairly close (relationally) to what it was.
The digitally altered image is what Van Gogh did, I think. He used color to express.
Honestly, when I paint, the bottom picture feels like the top one even though it is sedate. That is because I'm so engaged with it. And actually, if you were to look very closely at the bottom drab version, you'd see how psycho I am about this. Especially, if you were able to peel underneath and see the scrubs, rub outs, dashes etc.
