FFA

Just wonderful, I couldn't fall back asleep. I think "farming" and "bait-n-switch" are nearly the same. Bait-n-switch is the method for raising crops. What you do is, you put your good guys on something, get 'em hooked... then claim some unknown force has pulled your man away... and pretend that you are shaken as the guy you're leaving high and dry... then fill with cheaper labor... and baby you are in da bidness.

And if you are a -really- good businessman, you can con your good guys into thinking they are doing good by making them feel important with illustrious titles and responsibility for fellow workers. But just like bait-n-switch, you start 'em out slow. Manage one person's "livelihood". Before you know it, you have a subsidiary farmer. Maybe start'em out 'hiring' other workers... making sure they get a feel good of choosing a wonderful candidate. Maybe start them by 'mentoring' co-ops. Whatever it takes to pull more for crops. Reward farming with hard cash.

As a good businessman, you can make a technical person feel technical by making them struggle as a "renegade". You can shake your head in disgust, and maybe with a tear in your eye, say things like, "Yes... I remember when... when I was going to make a difference. When I was supporting the mission hands on." And then turn towards your future farmer, "But guys like YOU are the ones where the rubber meet the road. You didn't get caught in this fight with the corporate biggies." Give them honor and badge them with many certificates.

And if they leave, with shock and sadness, plead... because little rivulets turn into rivers! You must CONTROL! Scare them with horror stories of what happens without the security! Guilt them that they have spurned the love of their corporate mother!

-------------
P.S. Guise fear in security. Guise the capitalization on people's insatiable desire to consume in "financial reward". Do not create. The investment is too high. Steal other people's work. If by accident some renegade creates, take the creation and squeeze every bit of juice you can. Protect it. Hold it. Lock it. Make a "standard" out of it. Then sell it. Force it. Leverage. Baby... you can be a bidness man...

Hey Keith,

Your posting brings to mind a few Proverbs that are encouraging to me at least. I couldn't handle corporate life without Proverbs.

The wage of the righteous leads to life, the gain of the wicked to sin. (10:16)

Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf. (11:28)

Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense. (12:11)
