Blue Heron Bridge

This image is a bit dark of the actual painting... but I wanted to post it. It is 9x12.

It is very satisfying to step back from the painting, while in the scene itself and see it.

I was under a dissappearing sun... and feverishly painted... despite the gentle sound of the running water.

Look forward to one day painting and it not being so intense. The problem is I never know if it is going to work out. After you lay some strokes out it seems impossible that anything will come about. I get all on edge choosing colors, not knowing, for the most part, what on earth I am doing.

I suggest standing a few feet back from the monitor after expanding the image. From about 15 feet away the painting is, I believe, the best rendering of anything in nature I have done.

Kim, if I can learn some more, get my brush strokes right, liven the contrast and put this on a large canvas...

It'd be nice for the livingroom :)
