Van Gogh At The Taco Shop

Yesterday, Kim and Kaley surprised me with this book. It's a collection of letters from Van Gogh to his brother.

Today, I woke up and seriously wanted a cup of coffee. I started to go to Suckbucks, then remembered the local taco-donut place. I got my taco and sat down with my drawing tablet... and looked around... and there were THREE Van Gogh prints on the walls and one Monet.

And then I remembered that this is the day of the unveiling of "The Cypresses" at the Museum of Fine Arts downtown.

It's like he is calling me!

Remember the cypress at Buccees???

I am seriously thinking about grabbing a canvas and heading to a field to paint. I don't want to go see the Van Gogh with the crowd. It will be there for three months. I want to wait for some day when things have calmed down... then I want to see it alone... on some off day... at an odd time...

But I may celebrate the arrival of the painting by doing some odd-ball thing.

I remember! Maybe we can have a Van Gogh party tonight and eat stale bread for supper and sleep on the floor with no heater!
