Pelican Surfing

Here is a train of Pelicans.

Sometimes they will skim the tip of their wing on the face of a wave. They are so graceful when they do this.

Today, while I stood on the end of a fishing pier (not this pic), a long train of them swooped down, each grazing their right wing on a wave...

Then a gust of wind hit and the entire train jetted skywards... it was so sudden and amazing that my heart lept and tears came to my eyes.

There was something so crisp about the ocean today. So alive. I felt the stoke again... My goodness it has been a long time :)
