Light

I just tried to do something like Paul Oxborough's painting of the shining sun on the ocean... and I got something that looks like light: chinks of light. That is a first for me. It is really cool.

I just painted it on a piece of drawing paper... because I was afraid I'd be wasting a canvas.

Compared to everything in the house, every painting, this thing is sparkling.

I told Kim, "I've worked so hard, and look, in 15 minutes, I did that." She said, "But you could have never done that without all the work." I came back, "But I've worked so hard. It is almost unfair or something."

Kaley said, "But you copied that guy's." I said, "Not really. I looked at it and did it with a palette knife. I didn't have an underpainting. I mean I did it."

Kim did remind me, "Well, it is not as good as that guy's." I said, "Of course not, but look, everything in the house except for this is flat. I can do more of this."
