Kinda weird being in a place where marijuana is legal. You can buy hash and rolled joints in a cafe. Actually, I think it is officially illegal, but I was told a cop will give you a light for your doobie. I was just corrected on that by Eric. He says it was that way, but no longer. He says you can have 4 grams with no hassle. Cafe´s obviously have to have more than 4 grams on hand at a time. They are allowed to have at max a half kilo. How is it trafficked? There has to be something very illegal to make the semi-illegal-legal thing work.
You might expect that everybody must be stoned out of their minds here. But it isn´t that way. I´ve heard and read that the percentage of pot smokers is higher in the states than here. I´m sure the reasons are a bit complex for that. Whatever the hearsay is, I can vouch for the fact that people aren´t getting stoned on the streets all over the place all the time. I get the feeling that pot smoking is like it is in the States - those who are going to smoke it are going to smoke it, and those who aren´t going to smoke it, don´t smoke it... just like tobacco. The difference is that you can smoke marijuana outside here in a cafe.
Magic mushrooms were made illegal in April; however, I hear you can "legally" buy them undried. What about heroin, cocaine, meth and such? It´s illegal here, like really illegal-illegal.
This all makes me wonder about law, parenting, freedom and order.
