Planing Walnut at the Arts Alliance

Went to the Arts Alliance today which is right across from NASA. They had about 25 artists showing their stuff. Outside of the building, I started talking to this young guy about some wood that he was turning. We got to talking. He took me inside where he had a fairly raw piece of walnut. It was probably 8 feet long and 3 feet wide. Spent the next couple hours hand planing! A photographer from the Houston Chronicle took a picture of us. I wish I could say that we were making something beautiful from the downed trees; however, I don't think the piece of wood we were working on was local. The guy's name is Jeremy Grubb (picture of table is by him). he was quite passionate about his work. His dad and mom were there. I want to say that his dad (his last name might be Ross???) gave me an award at NASA. I think he is in charge of an astronaut selection, or something like that.

About mid-day, Kim began to feel worse. I am taking care of things ( and blogging while Bob the Builder is on). My saliva glands keep squirting juice in my mouth. my head feels a little hot too. And I feel a little bit queasy. But honestly, I don't trust those kind of symptoms. My brain likes to play tricks on me... and is probably assuming I am going to get sick... and simply getting a jump start on the whole thing. But maybe I am getting sick. It really does not matter. I hate stomach viruses. When I throw up, my stomach muscles over do the whole thing. I wish they would not try so hard. I wish my brain wouldn't try to prepare me. I wish this dog barking across the street wasn't like a jackhammer driving a nail in my head too, but that has nothing to do with this phantom virus which is attacking me.

Maybe the government has poisoned our family.
