New Years 2009 - Beta

After 25 days of painting, lots of scratch offs, I think this guy is going to stay. I've already got it up on the wall.

Talk about patience! I fought for this.

This guy is going in "Spoonbill HQ".

Funny that this contains my original thought of having RGB. I think that was accidental.

There is some Rothko in there. Some surprise Hans Hofmann. Nirvana is buried away in there somewhere.

Had a surprise visit with a woodworker from Hawaii this morning. I offered him my woodworking tools. Maybe he will make a frame or two.

This is nice, Keith. How big is it? The larger the better for something like this, I think.

On an unrelated note, we met a local artist at a wedding here in Austin a few weeks ago. His work is at an online gallery here...thought you might be interested.

Thanks, Robert. The painting is about 37"x37". I agree that it takes size to make it work, however I actually thought about this one on a small size too. In fact, swimming in the back of my head was Google's new favicon (which I don't think works real well) and the favicon to this site.

Rothko made some really large paintings. Here is a bit on it.

Enjoyed checking out that guy's work.
