Lunar Landing Anniversary At UHCL

The whole family went to a lunar landing anniversary party at University Houston Clearlake last night. They had live hippie folksy music from the 60s, food, moonpies, things for kids... In the auditorium, the flight director (I think) from the Apollo era spoke. They showed footage of the moon landing after that. It felt like family. A man next to us was honored. Believe he was an astronaut trainer during Apollo and worked for 35 more years here. His wife gave us some inside info for an event this coming Friday.

And through all this, I kept thinking about CMMI. Level 1, the lowest level, is characterized by "heroics". You'll find that "heroics" is a nasty word in CMMI. Maybe when purpose and passion have gone, process enters. Process will get the job done and is irrespective of the people that do the job.

I still think CMMI has some good things to say and might be the way to go... it is just that I want it tempered with purpose... not just a hoop to jump through to do business with somebody.

Maybe the higher ups really think that if the drone bees could just do the process and quit stinking thinking so much, it'd all just work better.

Arms hurting... wanted to say more :(
