Fishin' & Tinkertoy Dragster & Dance & Writing

5:00am off to Moses Lake.  Backed the boat in a tight spot under the watchful eye of the owner.  I can't believe I didn't zig-zag all over the place.  I somehow got it right in.

Wind cranked up quick.  Was real impressed with anchor.  That little thing digs in and holds.  Without it, we'd been flying away.  After digging in, it comes up pretty well once you get back over it and do a little move or two.

Tried two spots.  Got two fish.  Croakers, I believe.  Mine was 10".  Larry didn't measure his, but it was about the same.  You have to have a 15" fish to keep it.  We used live shrimp and poppers (corks that you snap).

On way back we hit bottom.  We were in the middle of the lake, so we weren't even sure what had happened.  Then it happened again.  It was okay though.  Depth finder!

All in all, a great first outting.  I had absolutely no seasick feeling even though it was a bit choppy.  Maybe all the surfing primed me.  Time went by fast and had to leave at 10:45am.  I didn't want to leave.  I can still see the little cork bobbing and plunging - disappearing.

Got back and played with Kovi.  Ended up taking some half torn apart toy and getting the little electric motor out of it.  Messed with the gears.  Drove motor with 9volt battery.  Hooked all sorts of stuff to it.  Put gears and motor back together and made a little tinkertoy car dragster (didn't run it).

Kaley had a dance recital.  She also tried out for "Fiddler On The Roof".  She's aiming to be "the wife".  Thirty girls were there and seven boys.

Kim is offering a writing class next year... and looks like there is lots of interest.  Somebody just traded her a science class for the writing class.  The science syllabus looks great.

Now there is a pool party at the neighborhood pool.  I'm sleepy and feel blessed to have such good family, friends, job, coworkers, house --- central ac... phone charger...
