Beating The Odds

The lab results came back negative for cancer in that mole.

Weird, but I am more relieved that I don't have to go back and undergo any tests or extra procedures than anything.  I think that is because I fear forms, appointments and payments more than cancer... or maybe it is that cancer just doesn't seem real.

In celebration, I am going back to the orthopedic surgeon for another look at my heel.  The shot helped but didn't lick it.  My problem with the heel may be due to never sitting still enough to let the thing rest.

Mark did the numbers today.  Think Spoonbill is clear for another year of to-the-partial-penny accounting.  Federal/State Unemployment, Workman's Comp, 940, 941, 1040, IRAs, Humana, TIAA-CREF, US Government, NASA, TX Government, County Courthouse, Cable Modem, Badges, VPN, Preschool, Ph.D., Fish, Woodworking, Stopped-Up Toilet, Football, Psychiatrist, Robots, Dog&Cat, Guys&Dolls, Fish'n Flies, Sleep Deprivation, Aggravation, On Hold, Abstract Algebra, Tensors, Nobody Cares,  L3&Lockheed, Trees, Voice Recognition, Bjarne Stroustrup's C++, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Man Cave, Monthlies, Achmed's Corner Store, Neighbors, Box In A Box, Invoice and Obama's Asteroid --- Here comes Poonville!

Ouch... my heel hurts...

So relieved. I love your summation of all the crazy stuff in our lives and on your mind.

Glad you're OK. A friend of mine died yesterday of cancer after a long battle. He was my (our) age. He blogged about it most of the way through: www.hewletts.org.

Reading his blog was sobering. Sorry that you lost a friend, Robert. Take care.

Caught a large mouth bass today. Feel like I won. My bandsaw is broken. Need to get it fixed.

Thanks for having Kim call me. I told her that I am proud of you for being sensible enough to have that checked. Regarding cancer not seeming real... I had to study death and dying in college for my degree. The first phase of cancer is normally unbelief, followed by anger, followed by bargaining, followed by acceptance. Thankful that God gave us good news! Mom V
