The Year Of The Boat And Flow/Structure

I woke up thinking about what I was going to do this year.  Was thinking about building that boat.  Ten minutes later Kim rolled over in bed and said, "I think this is 'The Year Of The Boat'".  Is it possible that we unknowingly transfer thoughts?

I don't like making New Years resolutions because I would feel I had to do whatever I resolved to do.  Who would want to force themselves to build a boat for fun?  If it takes ten years and I enjoy doing it, that's fine.

I want the boat to be called "The Spoonbill".  Raised wooden letters arc over the transom.

I would also like the house to run smoother.  Instead of a "system" or "process" or "do this", I have been thinking on the structural side.

This may sound flaky. Think about a stream flowing - the waves, swirls, eddies, rapids, currents, flow - the excitement and life of the water.  How about the drop in the landscape, river bottom, rocks, juts, tree roots that hold the stream and determine it's flow?

If there is a problem with the flow, we don't ask the water to behave a particular way, we restructure.

I'll leave it there.
