Art Class Friday

Just back from art class.  Looks like I'm going to jet in a different direction on this painting.  Going to do a more tonal painting on top of what I have using raw umber and white then glaze later.

Really fun talking and having lunch with Mr. Campbell.  For the longest time I've wanted somebody older to teach me - it's the apprenticeship/master thing.  I'm on the edge of my seat when he's talking - like being in school!  He talks about art, selling art, painting, different artists, different techniques, palettes, working with agents and even fly fishing.  He doesn't ramble on; I think he really enjoys people.  He's got that artist persona too, like there's something rumbling just beneath the surface.

I have been feeling a bit stretched lately.  For instance, today, I only worked from 7:00am-10:00am then ran to class.  Got home at 3:30pm.  Researched a couple painters he mentioned.  Was going to work some more... but the fizz just fizzled.

Well, that doesn't sound like much... I'm too tired to explain... but I just want to concentrate and really make some headway.  As stupid as this sounds - I feel like a total slacker a lot of the time.  I promise that I'm trying!  I can't even nail down what it is I'm trying so much about!

Oh well.  Mayfly, let's go to Golden's!
