Just back from the late night clinic. When I went I had a fevah of a 100.2, was achy, lungs sunburned...
Dr. Singh was courteous but I could tell she knew I didn't have the flu.
The thing is, I hear you need to take the dang flu med within 48 hrs of onstrike... I felt like I was going down. I've heard the stories, visited my bro-in-law a couple weeks ago, listened to my art teacher...
Also, you aren't supposed to take antibiotics unless you have a bacterial infection... and most infections are viral...
All I'm saying is, you feel like a weenie when they ask you questions that imply flu, like, "do you feel like you are going to die in the next 10 minutes?" If "No", you are a weenie and are probably hitting me up for some of the syrup. I did get the syrup, because I pretended like I didn't want it... it's kind of like auditioning for jury duty, but in that case you are trying to convince them the other way. I didn't go to get doped up! I had to tell myself that on the way home (as I pull 5ml into a syringe). It was an honest concern. I thought I might have had the flu! Turns out, that my dang fevah dropped to 98.7... which is 0.1+
I drew the attached while I waited in the room for the flu test to confirm that I was a weenie. That test cost me half a fly rod.
Dr. Singh liked the drawing. She said that was a good thing to do, and she said it's cool because you can draw whenever you want. She said, "I like to sing, but I just can't sing whenever I want to."
I told her thanks for working late and was truly happy to pay her for her services. She also gave me a note to take off work. She gave me two days off. I might take her up on it.
Here's to being off the page.
