Git Off Tha Innernet

I just told Kaley, "Ya need ta git off tha innernet.  It's not real.  Read a book.  And quit that stupid text messaging.  Get off.  Jus stop it.  Get off of it.  I mean it.  Get off!"

I had high hopes for humankind uniting on the gateways and byways of the superhighway - the world wide web of knowledge... realtime events... news from around the world... individuals giving their stories...

And really...  I don't know...

Kim is reading to Kovi...
JR is asleep
Kaley is now curled up in her bed reading
Mimi is on the "divan"
Garden is growing
A friend wrote a book... and it's on Amazon... and I'm mentioned
as a "faithful conversation partner" --- and I can only think
Does that mean I talk a lot???
4G - Good Golly Garsha Goobley
GN - good night

No, she wasn't curled up reading a book
She was texting... trying to come up with an idea for a play
I said:
  1. You need time alone
  2. You need time to let your mind wander
  3. You need time to daydream
  4. You need time to reflect on your own thoughts... and be your own reflection...and see where it goes
  5. You need time to just... and I waved my hand.... like an ocean wave...
And I left the room... waving like an Egyptian...

And I bet she kept texting...

I don't have a phone
I don't have a phone
I don't have a phone

I got a fly in the box for tomorrow

PS: I know there is an obvious irony that I am on the internet blogging this

PPS: As many ideas as are out there, a good one is still hard to come by... and we still need teachers

I hope you do puts some limits on the internet and texting for your children's sake. You have done an amazing job as a dad, limiting what your children watch, experience, and do. Don't let up! You go mister!!! Persevere! Stand firm! Be the dad that others haven't got the guts to be! Kaley will thank you some day. Never forget the dream you had as a young man, where you saw your family hypnotized in front of a TV. It was a warning. Stand firm!
