Writing Master - Adding Color

The painting is still very unfinished.  After class, I sorta deviated from what George had me doing. George did give me a little leeway when he said, "Use your instincts".  I realize that I don't see color so much as feel it.  I can't even tell you what color I'm using half the time.  I think that is good and bad.  I also realize that my palette is a complete and absolute mess compared to the other students.  I'm really trying to restrain myself and simply learn.

Obviously, though, his teaching is sitting me in the ballpark where I need to be.  I'm getting some of the ruddiness I had hoped for.

Here's what I just commented to Kim:

Class is good. One thing though, I think Thomas Eakins would have, if I understand George, do a series of color glazes instead of just wet-on-wet painting... so think mine isn't going to look the same. I'm wondering if I should wait... and do glazes instead "painting". Hmmm. I'm a bit confused, but overall it's good.Mark is on the problem I was having. He experience the same issue on Linux as I did on Windows...I'm kinda weird wired after painting, working alot, getting over that bug and being alone all week.BTW, there's going to be an art show in Texas City and students in my class will be showing their work. There's a $500 prize for first - may give it a shot next year :)

PS: In person the painting is in some ways better and some ways worse than what you see in my picture of the painting.

PPS: I think my painting skills are coming along.  It's pretty neat.

PPPS: I just looked at the painting after staring at the computer image.  The painting is more real looking... The computer image is more dramatic... maybe it's because it's glowy are more warm... I dunno.

I just showed this part of your painting, and Eakins, and george, to Lynn and Ricol and Lynn's nephew. They were impressed.
