First Meal

It doesn't look like a lot, but I was full off the meal from yesterday's food from the garden.

The corn is especially "meaty" as Kim puts it.

It's a totally different experience eating the food from your backyard.

A couple days ago, Kovi and I were on the roof trimming trees.  I thought, "I wonder how much we could get off the grid.  What if these shingles could capture solar."

It's really not worth it moneywise to grow your own - at least I don't think so.  However, it does taste a lot better... that's the surprise.  I told Kim, "You can't buy corn like this."

PS: that is a white corn variety... doesn't look as good but it's really good, I promise.  Also, the "discolored" tomato slice is from a "black tomato" variety.
