No house was unscathed
By the swamp monster
No tooth in his pith mouth
Failed to gnaw on his prey
Lecherous nails bent
Sharpened!
In fierceness they flew
Held high in mad scratching motions
Tearing at the fog!
The guttural belching
From the vile sack of innards
Twisted!
Unleashing agony to all that
lay before him under his
Piercing slit eyes!
Lurching through houses
Alleys!
The shadows and dark places
In the neighborhoods!
Prowling!
In fitful twitches through smokey byways!
The swamp monster was on the loose
Once again!
