Operation Big Buzz

In 1955 the government dropped mosquitoes on its own citizens in the state of Georgia.  Poor Georgians!  They wanted to determine whether mosquitoes would survive their dispersion via an "entomological bomb" called the E14.  Around 330,000 uninfected mosquitoes were dropped from aircraft.
