I repainted the whole thing over and over again... knowing that the problem was with the woman's head... but I kept going all over the place then... I think... just now... I realized it that I had smushed her face all up...
The odd thing is that I went into this horrible terror not know what was wrong...
Man, I'd really like to do portraits and paint good...
The painting still isn't right but I think that that was big... and I totally agree with what you said... I just didn't know... but I started drawing over the painting without measurements off the image or anything... and I think I saw...

But what a terrible painful lesson! It's when you know something is wrong but you don't know what it is --- and talk about a ROUND ABOUT way to fix something... ten gallons of paint and torture :-) Dang... it's almost funny.
