In this post I wrote:
Alcohol is the only thing that keeps the whole thing running.Tonight, there was music.
There's better things than alcohol
Here's where I want to be
Open Ocean
Deep Seas
Star Canopy
Camp fire
Soliloquy
There was Austin music.
Music from Austin.
The stars were big and bright.
A star canopy.
I took Kaley to a place called "Under The Volcano"
I didn't know what it'd be like
I knew the theme was skulls and stuff
But I figured it'd be fine because David Grissom would be playing
I hadn't heard anything David Grissom had played until this afternoon
The bouncer tried to card Kaley
I said, "We called and they said it'd be fine."
He asked, "This is your daughter?"
I said, "Yes" and handed him my driver's license
He let us through
We inched our way in a crowded room to the stage
And here it was... music
Before I knew it, it was over
Only an hour set
Just enough for my gills
Ears ringing on the way home
Kaley said, "Well that was my first bar."
She said, "I expected everybody to be in their twenties."
She said, "There were a lot of older people too."
I said, "They came to hear the music."
Twenties, Thirties and on up.
We'll have to go see some Jazz.
Look it's early.
Really that was short and sweet.
Maybe that is the way it ought to be.
Leave you wanting more, not wearing you out.
Like eating a small tasty portion.
Maybe rich people got that right.
Oh man, that was so good.
And that last song...
The one where he said, "We like playing that one in Houston."
Seriously. That was rocking.
I mean, Kaley.
That was like a little Austin.
She said, "I know."
I always picture it like a hobbit hole.
I said, "Yeah. It's like that."
