Just wrote somebody The thing is --- every new presidency takes us blasting this way or that. The sad thing is that the cycle of flip-flopping and different visions has a way of making people just ride along after a while. My latest thought is that we need to forget grandiose huge programs and energize small groups for robotics missions. Here is one I'd like to do. The Valles Marinas on Mars is 2500 miles long and up to 4 miles deep. By comparison, the Grand Canyon is less than 500 miles long and 1 mile deep. I'd love to park a robot camera on a ledge and see that other world.
