Church

It's so tiring
Makes me want to go somewhere else
Way away
Far away

Money
Money
Money
Money
Money

Do you have any money?

Where your wallet is
There your heart is

Money
Money
Money
Money
Money

You don't trust in God
Give me your money
Share your money

Money
Money
Money
Money
Money!

Like in Acts!
Throw it all in
Money!

Loan!
No!
Give!

Money!

You've got some
We know it!
Money!

Somebody asks for your tunic
Give them your Ferrari!

Money!

We have a lot to do!
Money!

If you were in a pinch
We'd help you
Give us your money!

It's harder to get through the eye of a needle
For a rich man

Give us your money!

There's poor people
GALORE

Give us your money!!!

I am glad you were open enough to express what you are feeling about being asked to give at church. First of all... I am glad you are attending church. There are NO perfect churches, because men lead them. From what I hear your church is pretty great, but perhaps they are a bit unbalanced in this area, but just about every church has an area that God is working on. I am glad I go to a church that rarely mentions money and doesn't even pass a collection plate. What I recommend is that you focus on the good things you like about your church and not on what you don't like. However, since I raised you and we use to attend churches that pushed for money, I want to leave you with two scriptures: 2nd Corinthains 9:7 - Each one must do just as he has purposed in HIS heart, not drudgingly or under COMPULSION, for God loves a cheerful giver. AND... 1st Timothy 5:8 - But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of HIS HOUSEHOLD, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. You are wise to manage your money in such a way that you are looking out for your family's future, while helping others as God leads you by His Spirit. God will lead you in where to give and how much. God is not pushy. Love, Mom

For the record, I wasn't asked to give at church.

Why don't you remove my comment, please? Since you titled the poem, "Church," I thought you were having one of those negative experiences where the church pounds its people for money. I have heard such great things about your church that I didn't want that one issue to drive you away. Anyway, thanks for clarifying and I believe you should erase my comments, if possible. love you, Mom
