Rat Fink

I traced over an image and then worked on the shading.  This is going to go on the back of Mark's rat rod.

Nice tracing.. but you should give credit to the artist who's work you have traced, since you have copied all of it including the shading

Wait... should I give credit to Jeff Allison? :)

Okay, I think this deserves an explanation.

First, there was no money involved. This was a one off fun thing I did for a neighbor. I did get a mini-Weber bbq pit for *hand painting* this on my neighbor's truck (along with a larger original work). I owe Jeff Allison a T-Bone steak :) Now that'd be fun!

This drawing/tracing (unabashed copy) was a "study" before painting. I'd love to show you the painting.

I really got into the drawing as I realized how involved it was.

The truck pretty much sits in my neighbor's garage, so it's not even seen. However! I'd like to give you credit for it, on his truck, if possible. One day, he might actually drive the thing we call "Rusty", basically a throw-down refurbish of another neighbor's grandpa's pickup that sat in a field.

Not A big deal my friend. I have been chasing a thief that is printing and selling T-shirts of this image, and just ran across your image in a search. I originally did the image you looked at for a buddy, for free, for his tattoo. That was about 12 years ago. Over the last few years tho I have caught multiple people selling stickers and T-shirts of it in the US, France, UK, Brazil, on Ebay, on FB t-shirt sies. I have also found that at least 14 people have it as a tattoo. Its actually pretty ironic that one of my most stolen images is a Rat Fink, which is technically me stealing stealing an idea... I think its great that you and so many other people like my version of a Rat Fink so much that they paint it or tattoo it and so on. Its cool that you actually took the time to trace or draw the image yourself also, and then paint it... for that, I have no issue at all.. its the guys that lift my image and start producing shirts and stickers they van sell that I care about... its all good.. I would love to see the finished painting sometime.. Im easy to find on social media, tag me if you ever post that up.. and thank you for the response.. Allison

Would it be possible to use this image as a tattoo or is that going beyond. Just asking!

Well, it's not really mine. I did that pencil drawing from an image I found online. I think the artist that actually created it might be fun to contact and ask. Good luck!
