Surf Texas

So, Mile's Grandpa passed away. Miles got this truck. Miles sold Mark the truck for $100. Larry painted the truck. Now I drew it.

Miles is a surfer who grew up in Galveston, so I put the truck on the beach.

Miles thinks about surfing like big waves in California. I think surfing is better in Texas sometimes. Kinda like Mile's grandpa's truck.

Somedays, I want to say screw California. They can have their gnarly surf, along with their gnarly surfers. Dude.

Last year Pat and I drove from San Diego to LA and driving to the beach along the way. Never did i see any waves half as good as I've seen at surfside. We were there for about a week, so if there was an off day, there was a whole week of them. Their water may be prettier, but it is tooooo cold for any normal person and I never saw a good wave and there were surfers everywhere.

Isn't it ironic :)

Actually, they do get really good waves in certain spots... on reef breaks... but the wave forms almost -exactly- in the same spot... and you have to fight off everybody trying to get it.

San Onofre is like a great surfside... only cold.

South Padre's surf can really go off. And the water can be spectacular. It is a hidden treasure.

Hawaii is wonderful, obviously... but the crowd can be plum ridiculous.

Now Mexico... I hear there are places... with long breaks and nobody... but there are always stories.

Thanks for commenting :D
