It is becoming clearer to me that engineers and corporate people see tools much differently. Engineers see a tool as something to get the job done. But engineers are stupid. They don't understand that you can make a lot more money (which is the goal, of course) by withholding the tool and escalating the price or using the tool as a weapon for beating down the competition.

And what engineers don't get also is that they are not in control. If it weren't for the corps, how would the engineer survive? Tools will not work or be adopted for their own sake without a shrewd minded corp manipulating, marketing and bullying.

The engineer is like a dimwitted artist. It takes somebody who can sell art to make art work... because people don't get it. It takes manipulation. It has nothing to do with anything. Nothing matters unless somebody can manipulate somebody else into believing it worthwhile.

Converting an engineer to the corpse is a life long process. But it ends that way.
