And what is up with the light going off when the player is on? And the light being on, means it is on "standby"? Is that not retarded? Who came up with that?

BTW, I am the proud new owner of a Magnavox DVD player. It is much better so far.
What is so nice about this one is that when you power it up, a light comes on! Imagine that!
