Painted Out

This is about 40% complete. You have to step back.

I think after pushing myself... with Picasso's Old Guitar Man, the Birder today, the Birder "study yesterday, the crazy Starbucks this morning, church... and Friday, the museum deal... the Starry Bucks... and a few others...

I think I bonked.

This is fabulous!!! It has a watercolor feel to it. We all looked at it. I stood back, too (as far as I could in this room. :-) Wow... Mom and I LOVE it! Is that on the long walk?

Sorry you bonked. Hopefully a good meal or a good night's rest will help.

Yeah, that is near Cyclops. Seems people have discovered it. It is no longer Kaley and I's secret :(

The picture of the painting sorta makes it look more watercolory than it is.

There is a lot to add. One thing is that it much more twiggy and branchy back there.

Also, the trunks (a lot of them) aren't treelike. I had just started when I bonked.

I was concentrating more on tone, I believe this is why it is more airy.

Note that I was under a bunch of trees, and the opening is where the sun was hitting.

This was my main aim at this point. I may go so far as to let it dry before I do the next part.

This is *incredibly*, at least for me, challenging. Maybe I am making it too difficult... but I am *always* second guessing... looking for depth... shadows... bushes... where light hits... etc... and then mixing colors...

And getting 1000 different greens etc.

And not getting overly focused on some detail...

Etc.

Well, it doesn't look like the result of toil and tedium. It is lovely and light and looks like it magically flowed out of your brush!

This isn't the one someone saw water in, is it? That would be crazy!

Yeah. It wasn't in the picture. They just assumed I was going to do the water... but it was obvious I wasn't standing in front of the water... but to them... it just *had* to be the water... since water is what people normally paint, I guess.

And that Chinese girl too. It was freaky.

This Mexican family came from *where*??? With a bbq pit and stuff... but I was at *the end*.
