Hubble Pic

This picture blows me away.

If that is the *only* thing NASA did, wouldn't that be worth a fraction of a percent of the National Budget?

Really? I'm serious.

If the bottomline is cash, the Hubble should be tossed in the ocean. Mars should be scrapped. The return to the moon should be eliminated. The whole thing ought to shut down.

If it is all cash, we ought to all sit on the couch, insert a feeding tube into our throats and dope up on the best drug that Phizer can dish out, permanently.

I luv NASA. It's worth a fraction of the National Budget if just to kick China, Russia and Mexico's ass(do they have a space program?)

That is amazing! Are those the real colors?

I read (and I've cut some out):

It is a 50-light-year-wide view of the central region of the Carina Nebula where a maelstrom of star birth — and death — is taking place.

This image is a mosaic of the Carina Nebula assembled from 48 frames taken with Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys.

Color information was added with data taken in December 2001 and March 2003 at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile.

Red corresponds to sulfur, green to hydrogen, and blue to oxygen emission.
