I did all kinds of sketches and finally said, "This isn't gonna work." I walked outside, shot a couple of baskets and two biplanes flew over. I dropped the ball, ran home, got my sketchbook, ran back out... and by then only one was in view, way off.I jotted this down. It is about postage-stamp size.
I don't think I can paint if I think about, "What would work?"

Yeah, maybe you should just keep painting, and if you have some you can part with --great, and if not, just show your work again.
