Starbucks - Chair

Drew this morning at Starbucks.

A barista is leaving next Saturday and asked me to paint a Lady Bug. I've spent way too much time and paper sketching millions of Lady Bugs. I woke up at 6:00am thinking about Lady Bugs. I went to bed at 2:00am after watching Global Warming : Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore.

But prior to the Global Warming , I was drawing Lady Bugs. Lots of stinking Lady Bugs.

Kim said, "Why don't you just draw a lady bug?" That is a good question.

This is a great drawing of a chair! Really well done. You can't just draw a lady bug because that would be more arts and crafts than art... it must have something special, different, meaningful.

Thanks. It's really challenging to draw a chair as it looks. This is like lifting weights for me, or like a tough run in the morning for somebody training.... in the end you feel refreshed...

I don't know about the Lady Bug... I think I might use that bean plant in the kitchen window.

I have so much to learn. Every once in a while something happens where I see a whole new way... or trail to follow.... saw that last week while using Sap Green with a Sable brush. It was cool.

It's hard to explain, but today at the museum, while looking at that crazy painting (the Chinese Red Devils), I saw the subtely of his color use...

Well... gotta go... Time to read...
