Just ran across this artist. Wonder how much Van Gogh was influenced by Monticelli. Honestly, I just wonder how much of Van Gogh is a combination of Monticelli and Japanese Art. And I wonder who influenced Monticelli.

I wish you could got to school and study art. Maybe soon....Let's make a goal and steps to reach the goal...
As much fun as this art thing is, this is probably transitory. I'm not saying that sadly or even realistically, just what I think. Underneath it all, I think I am trying to learn and get vision for work. Isn't that funny?
Art has been for me like getting a whole new insight into the combination of passion, aesthetics, technical skill, idealism, personal expression etc.
Some of this is just me seeing if I could think originally. A touch of originality is really something, and when it touches others... how awesome is that??? But maybe I am a product of a whats-next culture... What lasts???
What insight isn't just another blip? What's new under the sun??? :-)
Well maybe nothing, but seeing what is there is sometimes new. I'm hopeful when a work from 1615 can strike a chord so true.
What's funny is that I thought I had a vision... and only needed to hone some skill to show that... but now, at least the last couple days, it doesn't seem that way.
Rendering nature seems best at this point. I don't know.
Just started a portrait of Maria's father, who passed away. I have really wanted to do this... and if I can semi-do that girl with a pearl earring... I hope I can do this. The start is good. 24x18. It's heavy knowing I am going to give this to her.

That is really good, Keith. I am so glad you are doing that. It will mean so much to her.
