On the way home, on NPR, I heard about a Houston organization called "Artadia" which supports local art. It sounded different. It isn't simply an award, but an ongoing connection and support for artists. It is in place to help along the development of artists as they mature. The story sounded so inviting, even mentioning that art tends to isolate, and there is a helping hand out there. I believe he mentioned that the curator for the Menil Collection is on the board, which actually fits right in with the whole Rothko experience and paintings sitting in my livingroom!

I don't think I am ready yet since I am still bouncing off the walls developmentally, but it was really good to hear a pleasant voice which was reaching out to artists.
He even went on about how simple the entry was.
