Virtual Overlayed Reality Reality

I'm sure they do this too. *They* do it all. I have heard of "Altered Reality".

How about a car imaging windshield combined with GPS? Or maybe just tagged billboards. Tags are special signatures which pattern recognition stuff can pull up a "billboard".

Now, when I drive on the road, my windshield overlays the rectangle flying by. Instead of Vasectomy Reversal, I by a new law instituted, which I have a right to, because any sane country shouldn't allow idiotic images to bombard me, see what I choose to see or at least nothing at all.

Embedded visual information in reality.

If I can't get the Vasectomy Reversal ad, or Big Butt ad people to agree... I program my windshield to recognize whatever I find yucky... and filter it out.

Filtered reality.

This actually interests me much more than virtual reality. Gives a whole new meaning to sun glasses.

If the altered reality was close enough to be safe, I have a list of replacements.

if you are interested in searching some more on the topic, try searching for "augmented reality". You are right... truly a huge amount of possibilities out there once you can track head position accurately enough.

When I said, "Altered Reality", I meant "Augmented Reality"... although I am aquainted with the former.

I'll let my imagination run first, then I'll check it out.

I can see it being useful inside a space helmet for procedures.

It'd be cool to be working on a car and see something... and be able to get the info on it from some remote database.

I suppose they could do that now with barcodes, but somehow make it more live with wireless.

I suppose Walmart does that with tracking products.

Seems like the key is in better and cheaper displays.

An aside, combining this with voice recognition... wow!
