- Talked to a guy who was from Houston. He said he'd worked his tail off, and in the end "for nothing". He said he was waiting on his W-2. In the meantime, he said he'd show'em how to save money, he'd live in a tent. He was actually asking me how to go about it. I told him that was hard-core. Made me wonder if this was his babysteps into homelessness.
- Asked directions from a guy. He called me "brother". He was young with a light beard and bright eyes. He said, "Peace" after I had the directions straight.
- Happened upon a guy who was getting in his car, and he dropped his ceramic coffee cup. He looked at me and said, "It just slipped! It just slipped!" I said, "It's muggy today." He laughed. Helped him pick the pieces up. Two hours later, I realized he laughed because he dropped his mug, and I had said it was muggy, but I meant it was humid and slippery... but maybe he just laughed.
- Tried out the bus system. One dollar, and you are good for the day. Anywhere. All day. If you ride a lot, you can get monthly passes etc.
- Was in a "traffic jam" today. I did it twice for fun. The reason they have traffic here is to sympathize. This way, Austinites can connect with other cities, and somewhat understand the problems others must face.
- Along the creek, people put windchimes in the trees. They stack rocks in little balanced piles. The first time, okay, it was fun. Now, I'm starting to wonder about this place.
- Asked a Starbucks "barista" if I could keep my car in the parking lot, and take a bus downtown. She said, "But parking is fine downtown". I said, "But I wanted to try it out." She said that driving in downtown Austin wasn't nearly as scary as driving in downtown Houston.
- The previous bullet, and several other happy occurrences, make me think I'm not going to find rock here. There's nothing to be mad about. What kind of crock is this?

Well, we had a fun day too. We went ot the Children's Museum and Health Museum and Natural Science Museum and had a great time! Kovi looked at the T-Rex and said, "Bite me!!!" Then we remembered Kaley's rehearsal and rushed to Gloria Dei and finally got home 8 minutes ago!!
That's awesome. Wish I could have seen Kovi's first reaction!
I took a picture - I'll show you when you get home. :-)
