Preparing My Mental State For Home
After reading Frankie and Larry´s blogs, I get the feeling that I´m coming back to the aftermath of a war. Sounds like recovery has been slow. Must be pretty bad considering that things didn´t spring back into motion. Glad to hear that neighbors are helping each other, and that there is a heightened sense of community.

You would hardly know much happened in our neighborhood now. Just some fences down. Everything's been hauled off.
The situation is much improved even over a week ago. Last Thursday when I drove back to Alvin from UH down 35, only a few traffic lights were working. Yesterday, only a few were not working. Pretty much all the stores and restaurants are open again and lots of debris has been picked up from the roadside, though there's still quite a bit left here. I did see some blue tarps on roofs on 35, but really its not too bad.
