What's Cookin'
Tore out the kitchen a while back. Kim found she missed the oven most. She finally just said, "That's it!"
It's on the way.
Living without a kitchen sink and countertops takes some getting used to... wish I could just get that wee bit of drive I used to have to get anything done.
I just knew when I got back from Austin on that mini-vacation, I *had* that energy... so I knew I had to rip out the kitchen because I knew it would have to get done... if I hadn't ripped it out... it would have just sat in rotteness...
Pretty cruddy way to get things done. I can't say, "Gee! Honey, let's redo the kitchen! Let's budget! Let's save up a few dollars a month! Get some bids! It'll be beautiful!"
I have to rip it out and be confronted with the hole... and be pained by every penny it costs... and find no meaning in it... because everybody is just out to get a buck off you and nobody cares what they're selling... and everything is tossed in the gutter eventually... it'll all crack and fall apart so why get it... but you have to...
And *I* could do it the *right* way! But I just can't seem to do *anything*! So delay... and delay... hoping that I'll feel good.
And delay... and delay... because the longer you wait the less time it'll be before it breaks... Oh the pain of home ownership! The pain of not owning! The pain of just having to deal!
Oh! And the product "research". E-pinions... specs... the smart choice... environmental... efficiency... Consumer reports... Yuck! Choice choice choice! The web! The internet! Coupons! Leave me alone!
I just want to go back to the good ole days when you were just happy to have an appliance. No! Not that far back! Just don't make me think!
Off to the park!

You'll eventually feel good...after your next vacation! :-) Or you could get some feel-good meds.... Or I could just hire someone....but you still wouldn't feel good.
Nice oven, huh?!
This *is* a nice oven! Kathryn will be jealous. Our is about 20 years old (we think).
