Being The Grasshoppa
Drew this in the Japanese Garden downtown today. Visited the contemporary half of the museum of fine arts. They had this one whole room dedicated to this corner which was lit up green. I was alone in there. Two curators came in and one started doing shadow puppets and was trying to get me to "make a bird". No joke! I could tell the first curator wasn't happy. Some of the art is hard to take seriously. I heard one guide telling her bunch, "And this, this is, this is *large*... and one might think of a paper bag... texture... lots of texture going on here." Honestly, I feel somewhat ashamed, but I like it anyways --- probably more than the good stuff. When grown men and women think real hard and make a square... I'll check it out... and wonder about it.
