Neighbor Request For Authority Figure

Knock on the door. My nextdoor neighbor mom and daughter are standing there. Daughter translates, "My mom asks if you will tell the boys to stop digging a hole in the yard." Mom breaks in, "Yes. Tell them they can't be diggin' in your yard."

I look over at the boys digging a hole, but the hole is in their yard.

I say, "But it's not my yard."

"I know, but tell them you don't want them digging in jur yard so they stop diggin'"

The boys are looking at me like, "What's he gonna do?"

I give them a look and say, "You boys gonna stop diggin?" One says, "Okay, I'm not diggin"

"I'll call your dad. What's his number?"

They stop diggin.

Mom thanks me.

Then I turn around and say, "I tell you what, I might just call the poh-leace." - and I go back in.

Can you tell my son to turn in his homework?

I guess there is one advantage of growing old and less smooth... kids are more likely to be scared of you...

Remember Frankenstein.
