NASA Budget Rollercoaster

The budgetary committee of the U.S. Senate yesterday approved a bill undoing a proposed House cut for human exploration of roughly half a billion dollars.

Today, I signed onto a new contract vehicle with Odyssey Space Research which should keep Mark and I rolling for the next three years.

I feel very fortunate.

I read something from Larry Wall today. He said that he was about to play a game of football and the guy tossed the coin in the air and said, "heads or tails" - he hollored, "Edge!" Sure enough the coin fell in the grass on its edge. He remarked that probability needs context. He said that the story of his life has been calling things "edge" and getting it right.

Weird!
