Tonight, was Kaley's first indoor soccer practice. The coach is very strict. I was a bit worried about Kaley. In fact, I didn't watch the first 45 minutes of practice. Thankfully, the practice worked out well. I think the coach is good. The coach wanted to see how she did before assigning her to team. She did really well. I'm not so much proud of her as I am impressed by her.
As much as indoor soccer goes against the grain - the smell of grass, fresh air, sunsets, blue sky... I think it will be better for Kaley in some respects. Indoor soccer is more intense, has more passing, more coachable, more focused on skill (at least for younger ones)... But still, to me it is more like intense practice. I can't wait to see the skills transfer to the "real field".
Prior to the practice, we bought indoor soccer shoes. They didn't have any girl indoor soccer shoes, so she's wearing a boys number 5 1/2.
PS: tonight, I made my record of 25 bumps with the ball... I kept it up 25 times, bouncing off my feet... I don't know what you call that...
PPS: I may join the 40 year olds.
