Saw this article today. Keith's note is:
One would assume that people are prompted to "come to work each day" because that is what you do when you have a "job" i.e. you go to work - each day.
There is no real reason to wake up or go to work for that matter unless you are a business and can suck some $$$ or either rest easy... or either just find a nice spot where you can get out of it what you want.
I wonder what prompts people to work too. I am looking forward to the 500 coalesced responses.
And I read:
If you go to work because you're excited about what you do - that's what NASA needs.
Nah. I'm excited. That does no good. Passion is pointless in sliding pigslop.
I'm looking forward to not working at NASA unless NASA changes... but yes... I do have a job... and in these uncertain times I shouldn't say such things... and I do like what I do but it's no better than child's play and Peter Pan... which I've got pretty good at doing.
Yay... go me!
Is it so self-centered to try and attain some "meaning" out of one's career? Isn't bringing in the funds for a loving family good enough??? Supporting an up-and-coming actor??? Stretching into the future in this new networked universe as knowledge is at ones fingertips??? Feeding the dog???
New ideas??? They are so old. New is old. How about just old?

I think of it like...a football game. I'm the old returning QB. Tomorrow morning is 3rd and 9. Thursday may be 1st and 10, but could be 4th and 23. December was an 80 yard reception for a TD. It's fun. Have fun. Enjoy it. Just don't kick a chip shot field goal. It won't work. Go for the TD.
My goal is to take it day by day and plug... tomorrow I'll be rejoicing over new prospects... I need to keep it even and work, just work... and so get ready voice recognition... papa lima uniform golf
