Went to Westover Park and tried fishing. My mayfly popped and went down. I pulled something that felt like a dead weight. It was a nice-sized turtle! (picture me holding my hands together in an eight inch diameter circle instead of apart like normal). Thankfully, the hook popped out at the bank.
It's been sort of a bad day programming for me. Monday is the day I want to bust out of the gate and get something done. I got stuck and couldn't get out.
Catching a turtle on a mayfly kinda goes with the whole day.
You know, actually, catching the turtle was kinda fun. But really, it's just weird, almost dark, fly-fishing and dragging a turtle in.
That's what work is like sometimes - I've got something to do, but it's odd - a mix between the finesse of fly-fishing and the heavily bent rod with a slow, boxy turtle - little feet frantically paddling - covered in moss.
It's kinda like NASA. There's this mix between "Snoopy's 'To the stars!'" and "Charlie Brown's 'Waaa wah wah waah'"
They say it's 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration. I wish it was. I like sweating! I just don't like being stuck!
I swear sometimes, I'd be better off, maybe more stimulated at least, trying to grow this company instead of pursuing something technically innovative... I seriously wonder if I'm off my rocker.
Sometimes it's like a fashion show gone wrong or a turtle on a mayfly.
