I had to come home midway thru class to get my picture of the painting. After I got home I sat down in the "art room" and looked at an old painting of Lyndon Baines Johnson I did.
On the way back to class I started imagining what I could do with "The Writing Master". My head swam. I saw "The Writing Master" as different artists might do it - Chuck Close, Van Gogh, Picasso, Andy Warhol... and then my own imaginings... then statements about learning off of pictures of paintings... Suddenly I wanted to chase that... go out and buy 10 canvases and draw "The Writing Master" in everybody's style. Then plaster them all over the artroom at Hobby Lobby. The only one missing from my imaginings was the actual painting (which is kicking my butt). Then, these 10 painting would somehow point inexplicably to the "real" painting... Charge!
I got back to class and was alone. The others had gone to eat at that great Italian restaurant. I sat in front of the painting kind of at a loss. Something passed over me. I won't go into it as it sounds goofy. Anyhow, I'm on track I think. I'm going to continue to work this painting.
When I hopped in the car to come home, "Closer To The Heart" was playing. I sat there in disbelief. One of those rare days...
Well! Kim and I have a date tonight. Kim wants to go fishing (or watch me fish) since I went with her to the gardening show. I don't think it's a fair trade as I really liked the gardening deal... but hey, maybe we'll catch a sunset at Moses Lake :-)
PS: That sheen on the pic is the sun. Took the pic outside. Still doesn't work right. Oh well.
