Superbowlish Party

After gathering the wood, I spent a couple days chopping it.  Took a bit to get the fire going since the wood is not quite cured.  After 45 minutes I had a good fire going.  I had a Stevie Ray Vaughan marathon while cooking.  I listened to several live concerts: Japan, Montreaux, Austin etc.  Ribs were ready by the start of the game.  I still hadn't turned on the game.

Larry came over.  We didn't really have a good reason not to, but we didn't watch the superbowl.  We drank Pabst Blue Ribbon, traded ribs and beer for more fire wood, listened to Robert Earl Keen, listened to our local garage band at Myles, made a fire and talked about finishing the painting for Richard.

I heard it was a good game.  The score was tight.  I wish I'd seen it in a way.  At the same time I enjoyed myself.  I think it was that I really didn't want to watch commercials and the half-time show.  Also, I'm not a fan of either the 49ers or the Ravens.  It would have been a game that I'd had to have "gotten into".  I would have had to have chosen (what tense am I using???) a team and went hog wild for them, but really I just didn't feel like it.

Maybe it's that my football season ended two weeks ago... and really this would have been a stretch that I would have had tried to get into.  Maybe I should have given the benefit of the doubt to either the Ravens or the 49ers.

Really, like I say, the game just slipped on by.  First Superbowl I think that I haven't watched in as long as I can remember.
