In short, if your key won't turn the ignition and you live around the NASA area, go to Liberty Locksmith in Seabrook. I think it's a fairly common problem. What happens is the key gets off and rubs the tumblers the wrong way. After a while it all goes to crud.
The difference between Clearlake Honda fixing it and Liberty Locksmith fixing it is about $600.
Today I spent about 20 minutes in the Clearlake Honda parking lot trying to turn the key... and finally got it.

That could very well have been the case. I don't know why I didn't try WD-40. I will kick myself now!
