It's the same old tune, fiddle and guitar
Where do we take it from here
Rhinestone suits and new shiny cars
We've been the same way for years
We need to change
Somebody told me when I got to Nashville
Son you finally got it made
Old Hank made it here, we’re all sure that you will
But I don't think Hank done it this way
I don't think Hank done it this way
Hank might not have done it that way, but I want to do it the way Waylon thought Hank might have done it.
BTW: Happy anniversary mom and dad. It was yesterday, no?

What exactly did Hank do anyway?
I don't know, but it all makes sense when Waylon sings it.
It was da music bidness that Hank did...
On an unrelated note, my favorite song with a Hank reference is "I feel like Hank Williams tonight" by Austin's own Jerry Jeff Walker...a sad song...
I could live my whole life
Without a phone call
The likes of which I got today
It was only my wife
Said hello then goodbye
And told me she's going away
I didn't cry
It was all cut and dry
I hung up before I realized
I turned up my stereo
I walked to the window
And stared at the storm clouds outside
I play classical music when it rains
I play country when I am in pain
I won't play Beethoven, cause the mood's just not right
I feel like Hank Williams tonight
There's no explanation
Not even a reason
No talk of the good times we had
Was it Me was it her
I don't know for sure
That's why I'm feeling so bad
I play jazz when I am confused
I play country whenever I lose
But Bird's saxophone
Just won't sound right
I feel like Hank Williams tonight
Lately I've been thinkin
I just might quit drinkin
Now I don't know all in all
I just might stay home
And get drunk all alone
And punch a few holes in the wall
When I'm real high I play rock and roll
I play country when I'm losin' control
I don't play Chuck Berry
Quite as much as I'd like
But I sure feel like Hank Williams tonight
I feel like Hank Williams tonight
Here's a cover on youtube: Video
That's a sad song.
Don't have my sound. Will try to check the utube video later on.
Speaking of the great Jerry Jeff Walker..."If I could just get off of that L.A. freeway"..."say hello to ol' skinny Dennis, he's the only one I think I will miss"...that's a good one.
Yes, our anniversary was July 9th. Thanks for thinking of it! Mom/Dad
Hope you had a good one!
My answer for the way Hank did it:
Hank wasn't thinking about what he could get and hold on to. He was thinking about what he could make and give.
But not sure if Hank done it that way.
I'm sorry (but not sorry) for commenting more about this, but I couldn't resist...I just thought about 2 more Hank referenced songs that I love. I won't paste the lyrics, but here are the titles:
"Midnight in Montgomery" sung by Alan Jackson, and "The Ride" sung by David Allan Coe.
Don't be sorry about commenting... I live for 'em!
BTW: I am going to a friend's surprise b-day party tonight. They are big Texas country western fans. They are having a live group play. Kim and I have an official kid-free date to go. Honestly, I am not much for dancing. Don't even have proper footwear. It's so hot too, it just seems like work to go... but oh well.
