Finished this book tonight with Kaley. It's a story about a strike that occurred during the Industrial Revolution. It is a mix of history and fiction. it mainly follows the lives of two kids.
Kind of cool to finish this on Labor Day weekend.
Kim stood in a long line with Kaley and Kovi to meet the author who I believe also wrote "The Bridge to Terabithia".
The last sentence or two: Even though his new boots sometimes slipped on the icy cobbles, he did not stumble. How strange, how wonderful it seemed to be running, not away from petty crime or deadly fear, but toward a new life where bread was never wanting and roses grew in stone.
