Kaley and I watched the last Rockford episode tonight :(
It began with Rockford fishing for trout. An odd coincidence - I caught a speckled trout today.
As the show progressed Kaley said, "Where's Rocky? If they don't put Rocky on I'm going to be really mad." (Rocky is Rockford's dad). I said, "Kaley, I don't think they knew this was the last show."
To both of our dismay, Rocky, Angel and Dennis Becker were not in the show. Rockford was alone. He wasn't even in his trailer house on the beach. He wasn't at home. He was even put in jail (kinda like Seinfeld's last episode --- but not overtly).
The last scene of Rockford: a mechanic has worked on Rockford's famous Firebird, Rockford gets in the car, the mechanic says, "They don't make them like they used to" (referring to his "air filter"), Rockford backs up the car and the car sputters in reverse... and freeze --- that is it, the end of 6 years of Rockford - the end of Rockford.
Kaley stuck out her bottom lip and said, "Waaa". I hollered, "They don't make'm like they used to! Kaley! They were tellin' Rockford that he was broken. All alone. No friends. Not even his car. What a way to go out. So sad..." She said, "Waaa" again.
